HOW CAN I HELP?

We need your help! Put simply, we are a small group of volunteers and foster families who help TLS with Connie and Jay taking on the vast majority of the work (and fostering). All of us have full time jobs and we do as much as we can but without fosters, social media, volunteers, and donations, we cannot make a difference. Our small network is "maxed" out as far as space for new dogs and we are in great need for financial assistance as far as medical expenses for our dogs. Our van is in need of maintenance and the insurance costs per month are high. It is an awful feeling to turn away a dog knowing what likely lies ahead in the future. We cannot continue to help without everyone's support....

1. FOSTERING - Even for short periods of time! PLEASE consider fostering - you are saving lives! This is truly a desperate need right now. Fostering means providing a dog with a place to live until the dog gets adopted or sometimes for short periods of time pending placement elsewhere. TLS provides food and medical treatment. We ask that you coordinate with TLS as far as bringing your foster dog to events so we can get the dog adopted. Please consider fostering for TLS! It is an amazing experience!

2. WORKING AT EVENTS - The London Sanctuary has at least one event and sometimes two every month. We limit the number of dogs based on how many volunteers we have. We need people to take the dogs out, walk them around, and to tell potential adopters about our hounds! We can bring more dogs to events if we have more volunteers! Teens can get service hours. Please come help for a few hours one weekend or two per month.

3. SHARE, SHARE, SHARE - Please share and network our dogs. This really works! Cross post between Twitter and FM and instagram and any other mediums so we can get these dogs adopted! The math is simple - we are physically limited as far as how many dogs can be helped due to foster limitations. The more we adopt out, the more room for new hounds.

4. DONATE MONEY - Each dog rescued has to be vetted which means they get all the necessary shots, any needed medical care, and they are spayed or neutered. The London Sanctuary also has to pay for food and any special needs for each dog. They desperately need help to cover these bills- particularly when a dog has heartworm or needs extra medical care/hospitalization or needs dental work to remove rotted teeth. Everyone wants to save the animals from being put down at the kill shelters, but few want to donate to help pay for their care while the rescue tries to find a foster or adopter. You can make a huge difference by helping with donations or with fundraising. PLEASE DONATE TODAY.

5. HELPING WITH FUNDRAISING - We all work full time and we do as much as we can with the time we have. Why not have the kids do a neighborhood carwash to benefit the TLS Hounds? Or maybe donate the money raised from a garage sale? All this raises awareness and also helps us take care of the medical care for the hounds, heartworm treatments, and our other expenses like maintenance of the van to transport the dogs to events, etc. Everyone can make a difference, even on their own time! These are just some ideas of ways you can personally make a difference. It is heartbreaking to look at post after post of dogs that are set to die the next day - we know we cannot save all the dogs but that doesn't mean we stop trying to save the ones we can.
