This pretty lady is Miss Pastina, aka "Momma"; she came to us months ago with a herd of 2 day old puppies in tow.  It's Momma's Turn now (there's a song there somewhere, isn't there?)  Anyhow, Pastina is one of the sweetest, most genuinely nice dogs we've had in a long time.  She's just finishing up heartworm treatment and has three weeks (as of 05/14) of crate rest remaining, and then she can be formally adopted.  She would be available as foster-to-adopt until then.

Pastina is up to date on her vaccinations and deworming, is spayed and microchipped and ready to meet you!  We promise you WILL fall in love with this sweetie.

She is fostered in Baker County, and her adoption fee- which includes the above-mentioned vetting- is only $250.  To set up a meet and hug (she's a hugger!) just email us.  Home visit and reference checks are required and are not negotiable.

Pastina was a single, homeless mom in the Osceola National Forest, where she had her puppies (The Pasta puppies). During her pregnancy she befriended a nice camper who made sure she ate and looked after her. After having her puppies the camper reached out to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Officer over that particular camp. The officer then reached out to TLS through a mutual friend. When her puppies were 2 days old we were able to get out there and trap her rather quickly and grab her puppies for her.
As with many a forest dog, this young momma was heart-worm positive. Once her babies were old enough to be weaned she was spayed and then treated for the heart-worm disease.
The babies have all left the nest and she is now ready to find a happy home and a loving family
Around 3 1/2 years old
About 43lbs

Pastina is the sweetest girl and has so much love to give. She will be a great companion for any person or family She is quiet and likely would do fine in attached housing.
